President's words
I am so excited about this month’s assembly meeting - I’ve known Marc DeSouza for many years, have seen several of his lectures and discussed with him the art of magic. He is an absolute wealth of knowledge and a true titan of magic. That’s why I’m so pumped up about his lecture on Tuesday December 12th at 7:30 PM - In Marc’s own words, “I can promise a lecture that has something for everyone…stand-up magic, parlor magic, and close-up magic. There is manipulation, comedy, mentalism and lists of family friendly magic. Also, there is magic for everyone, regardless of their level of skill or experience.” Pass along this information to all your magic friends!
Of course we’ll be getting together at 6 pm if you want to have dinner before. See you on the 12th!

The topic of our meeting this evening was the venerable cups and balls. We began with Jackie Reynolds doing her version with plastic buckets, then went the opposite direction with a version using beer pong-sized cups. PNP Craig Dickson gave us the history of the effect, which goes back thousands of years with evidence of it found in hieroglyphics from a tomb from 2500BC. He then showed us a version of his that he hasn't performed in quite some time, but still looked pretty good despite. Willie Yee gave us a rendition of the pandemic as its theme. Frank Monaco provided us with literature to read from Bill Tarr's and Mark Wilson's books. "There's gold in them thar' books." Finally, we watched a video of Dave Williamson performing, followed by a discussion of the strike vanish. T'was a night of good information to spread around.
