Lecture by Bruce Kalver
Past National S.A.M. President and “gadget guru” Bruce Kalver will be delivering his magic lecture this month. This is a “can’t miss” opportunity for those that follow his monthly column in M-U-M.
Last Meeting - Bill Winters lecture on Magic Legend Walter Gibson
Walter Gibson was a prolific writer, a magic inventor, and friend to many of the top magicians of the golden age of Magic. But most importantly, he was a member of SAM Assembly #35. Bill Winters talked about the life and times of Walter and the famous magicians he ghost wrote for including Houdini, Thurston, and Blackstone; as well as being the creator of "The Shadow", one of the greatest radio serials of the 20th Century.
Before our guest lecture, as part of the business meeting Assembly members remembered long-time member and Past President Sam Patton with the traditional broken wand ceremony performed by Past President Joe Quitoni. We were honored to have Sam’s wife Stephanie Patton in attendance.
