MEETING RESCHEDULED TO TUESDAY, MARCH 21st

President’s Words

It’s March Magic Madness! This month it’s our pleasure to welcome Michael Kaminskas - he’ll be lecturing on cups and balls, chop cups, and more - if you’ve never seen his items, go to mkcups.com - fantastic items. I spoke to Dorothy Dietrich, and we’re on for Sunday May 7th.  We’ll need to get a list of who’s coming - we’ll discuss it more at the next meeting.  Nadine also booked the pavilion at Freedom Park for Sunday August 27th - put it in your calendar, because it’s always a blast with great food, friends, and magic! As per usual, we’ll be getting together for dinner at 6 pm on the 14th.  See you soon!

This Month

Michael Kaminskas lecture on cups and balls, chop cups, and more!

Last Meeting - Magic Marty Zoomed from Florida and What’s in your Every Day Carry Case?

Magic Marty Steinberg kicked off the evening with a special close up magic lesson from his new home base in Florida.

Joel shared a number of items in his EDC including a card case with belt clip.

Steve Johnson had a similar card case without a belt loop to hold cards, coins, bill tricks and comic predictions. Steve mentioned two Kindle books to carry on your mobile device with many impromptu effects.

Frank Monaco presented the easiest EDC of all - magic without props!  Discussed were effects such as "Lightening Math", a selected card is revealed with quick math calculations based on the card and then.  He also mentioned the “Bob Hummer cup trick” and how John Treyz fooled him with an alternative method after teaching Frank the original method.  Also mentioned was a number prediction.  Numbers 1 thru 12 are written on a piece of paper in a random order.  The paper is tapped as the spectator starts counting up to 20 and then says STOP.  When they hit 20, the pencil is actually on their number.

Craig Dickson displayed a nifty bag that he uses as a close up case.  The bag can be partitioned to hold various props and gimmicks.  The bags may be purchased from the two dealers below:
