President’s Words ~ Write on Que

Hello Compeers,

Busy, busy me!  I’ve been spending so much time at the shop lately - I took a few minutes to rest when I got home today and fell asleep - I had a strange dream that I was a muffler and woke up exhausted!  So I asked my ghostwriter to step in and let you know that we will continue with our ever successful impromptu magic theme for the June meeting.  Also be sure to mark your calendar for Saturday, August 27th our 80th Anniversary celebration barbeque/picnic extravaganza at Freedom Park in Pleasant Valley (LaGrange).

See you on Tuesday!

Last Meeting - Dollar store and impromptu magic

Greetings to all compeers! We began the evening with some talk about our upcoming 80th anniversary celebration, along with our annual world famous barbeque/picnic extravaganza hosted by PNP Joel at stately Zaritsky Manor in the coming months. Joel also mentioned that it was 120 years ago this very night that the SAM was formed,

Tonight's topic for discussion and learning was about quick and easy magic that  can be done with a minimum of preparation as well as a minimum of greenbacks to put it together.  Our own Jackie Reynolds gave us a first-hand account of her time at the clown convention in Atlanta that she attended.  We're proud to say that she got 2nd place with her fishing skit. gave us a card effect, Jackie! She also showed us a quick and easy effect using some paper money with a pen or pencil.  Steve Johnson showed us one using a $1 and $5, taken from the Tarbell course.  What is old can always be new again.  Dwayne gave us his Card Warp  interpretation.  Jace gave us a plethora of effects using cards, the hopping half, another "metal" effect where 3 quarters get fused together, and showed off his fire wallet. Willie Yee showed us a trick using a stirrer and pastry bag, which is his version of Gregory Wilson's "Coffee Break."   Next month's meeting will be along the same lines with Impromptu Magic.  Look out dollar stores, we'll be shopping with you all soon!
